Buford Tower is a six-story Italianate style structure that now serves as an unofficial landmark and clock. The tower, construced in 1930 and named after Captain James L. Buford, is on Cesar Chavez and Colorado and was used from 1931 to 1978 as fireman's practice tower.
This aerial nadir image was taken shortly after the heavy rainfall that flooded many parts of Texas in May of 2015. The textures in Town Lake show how much of the fast moving water pushed aside the sediment.
